Welcome, all.

My name is Madrona. I am a full-spectrum doula rooted in Olympia, Washington.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I felt an early pull toward birth work; something quiet but steady. While studying the arts and sciences, that pull deepened into a knowing that I was meant to walk alongside others in these threshold moments of life.

When I learned that Washington State was among the first to offer Medicaid coverage for birth doulas, it felt like an opening. A path becoming more accessible, not just for me, but for the communities I hope to serve.

I believe every person deserves to be met with care, respect, and compassion as they move through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. These are tender, transformative times; moments that ask to be held with presence and intention.

It is an honor to witness and support the unfolding of new life, in all the forms that may take.

With reverence and care, I am grateful to know you.

My Story & General Philosophies

I want to leave people better off than I found them. I do this by attuning through heart-centered presence and truly bearing witness to each person’s story; their journey, challenges, hopes, fears, and dreams. Through active listening and an open-minded, personalized approach to problem-solving, meaningful improvements in quality of life can unfold.

Strength and rebirth are often found in deeply personal, sometimes hidden spaces. Birth spaces, in particular, hold a unique and powerful energy for transformation.

Autonomy, respect, altruistic service, and lifelong learning are values I carry deeply. My goal is to help members of my community feel fully empowered in their whole selves. Honoring birth experiences and the transition into parenthood with grace and wisdom is essential; not just for individuals, but for the health of our communities and the world at large.

I believe that healing birth stories are created collaboratively. They are guided first and foremost by the informed consent and personal preferences of the birthing person. Birth can be approached through both intuitive wisdom and evidence-based, trauma-informed care. I also believe many people in the birthing community are working to rewrite generational patterns. Being part of that process is an immense privilege and a daily source of inspiration for me.

I am continually learning and growing, shaping myself into the kind of support I once needed during pivotal chapters of my own life. Whether you are beginning your journey into parenthood or expanding your family, I am committed to being a trusted, steady presence alongside you.

Pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum are times of profound vulnerability. Because of this, I invest in ongoing education and training to better support those I serve. As I grow in experience, my offerings will continue to expand, allowing me to deepen the care I provide.

Through connection, empowerment is reclaimed.
